The world needs to hear your Dharma: your own spiritual journey,
expressed with truth, humility, and grace.
In this six-week workshop, we will learn how to share our spiritual paths in writing: how to write with authenticity and vulnerability, how to say what we mean, and how to support others and be supported in the act of creation.
Each session will explore another facet of spiritual writing. We will be writing together, examining the works of renowned writers who write about or lace spirituality through their stories, their essays, their poems. We will hear from contemporary artists writing from a spiritual perspective, and have the opportunity to ask them questions and explore our writing with them.
We will discuss and explore how we can connect with the mind of meditation and our own, essential creative force. This course is a safe and supportive space to take risks with our writing, and to find a warm community of fellow writers.

Online Day Retreat
About the Day Retreat
Feng shui teaches that we are interconnected and interdependent. This includes the spaces that we live in and engage with every day. We are not separate from our homes, our spaces, or the objects and people that surround us. How can we begin to connect to and appreciate our world, and see the beauty in each moment?
In her new book Mindful Homes [CICO 2023], Anjie Cho explains how we can start by paying attention to the details around us. Feng shui and mindfulness can help us to slow down, be more aware, and create spaciousness to give birth to more joy, creativity, and community.
Join us for a day-long retreat and learn simple practices to cultivate a healing living space, including creating intentional spaces, mindfulness meditation, and offering gratitude to deities and to your home itself. We will review the meaning of areas in your homes, how to use a feng shui crystal ball, the art of placement in one’s bedroom, as well as working with the bagua mandala on one’s bed. There will be sitting practice, group discussions, and a mindful walk.
This Mindful Spaces retreat will inspire you to look at your environment with fresh eyes and create a space that enhances happiness and wellbeing to welcome the new year!

A mind that is in the balance of both creativity and receptivity is an open channel to manifesting the activity of artistic brilliance. From this state of mind tremendous power can be communicated through art. No matter what medium, the artist can produce work through the process of opening the creative mind at the same time as opening the gateways of perception to a state of responsive spontaneity and visionary brilliance, the active process of joining together heaven, earth, and humanity.
This weekend program will present the teachings of Jack Niland as taught to his protege Andrew Forbes, which Jack received from his teacher Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. With Anjie Cho, assistant teacher of Shambhala Art developed by Steve Saitzyk, also from teachings of Trungpa Rinpoche, students will be guided through the transmissions and methods of creative processes taught in both traditions. This exploration will establish the foundation of the Dharma Art teachings and be a forum to interpret the teachings based on the student’s personal medium, allowing the teachings to integrate into experiential understanding. Mediums of visual arts, creative writing, music, and design will be explored while diving deep into the practice of meditation.
